As the global cryptocurrency market capitalisation steadily approaches $2.91 trillion at the time of this report, following a recent decline, Ethereum is subtly capturing attention. According to the latest data, Ethereum is attracting strong bullish interest, while Bitcoin and Ripple traders are becoming increasingly cautious. The bullish-to-bearish comment chart, which measures the ratio of positive to negative comments an asset receives, indicates that Ethereum is presently at 2.05. This indicates that there are roughly two bullish comments for every bearish comment across X, Reddit, and Telegram concerning ETH.
Concurrently, this indicated an increasing sense of FOMO (fear of missing out), as traders expressed optimism regarding ETH’s potential recovery above critical support levels, heightened staking demand, and forthcoming enhancements to the network. This further coincided with recent report, wherein Ethereum-led stablecoin market capitalisation grew over the past week, adding $243.4 million. Bitcoin, meanwhile, exhibits a bullish-to-bearish comment ratio of 0.82, indicating that bearish comments have outnumbered bullish ones. This might have occurred due to persistent challenges in surpassing $87,000, followed by a downturn toward $81,000, the liquidation of leveraged long positions, and macroeconomic uncertainties that could have undermined market confidence. In a manner akin to BTC, XRP was positioned at a ratio of 0.92, suggesting a marginally more bearish than bullish sentiment.
And this might be attributed to its decline of more than 9% over the past week and the challenges in reclaiming the $1.40 level, which could have contributed to the prevailing negative sentiment. Conversely, Spot Bitcoin and Ethereum are experiencing net outflows, whereas XRP persists in drawing in capital. According to SoSo value data, Bitcoin spot ETFs have experienced net outflows of $278.37 million in October, subsequent to robust inflows of $2.65 billion in September. Meanwhile, Ethereum spot ETFs have experienced significant outflows totalling $695.35 million this month, marking a reversal from September’s net inflows of $832.43 million.
In contrast, XRP spot ETFs have garnered $12.09 million in net inflows during October, subsequent to $121.40 million in September. This somewhat suggests that an altcoin season may be on the horizon, a notion further corroborated by the Altcoin Season Index, which was recorded at 64 at the time of writing. In other terms, the market is showing a tendency toward altcoin season; however, it has not yet crossed the conventional threshold of 75 that signifies the onset of an official altcoin season. However, with Bitcoin’s market dominance at 60.39%, reflecting a slight increase of 0.04% over the past 24 hours, Bitcoin continues to maintain a position of strength.
