An Ethereum whale transferred 10.3K ETH, valued at approximately $19.5 million, from Kraken within a 24-hour period. The activity adhered to the established trend of wallet withdrawals, concurrently resulting in a reduction of the funds maintained by the wallet on the exchange. Notably, the whale withdrew another 5,000 ETH, valued at approximately $9.53 million, in the most recent transaction. However, accumulation alone did not fully encapsulate the comprehensive supply implications behind these movements. The wallet also staked 2.02K ETH, valued at approximately $3.84 million, via Ethereum’s Beacon Deposit Contract. Consequently, a portion of the withdrawn supply transitioned toward staking rather than remaining as readily available liquidity. This positioning reinforced the accumulation narrative, wherein the exchange withdrawals resulted in a diminished supply readily available in the market.
Spot Taker CVD has introduced an additional bullish dimension, with the 90-day indicator continuing to reflect a buyer-dominant trend at the time of writing. Market buyers exhibited a more pronounced aggressive execution compared to sellers throughout the observed timeframe. Importantly, the whale’s exchange withdrawals were not contrary to the general supply trend, but rather served to reinforce it with buyer dominance. Exchange withdrawals diminished available holdings, whereas taker activity indicated robust buying pressure within the spot market. Long-term taker dominance will remain essential in propelling upward price movements due to constrained supply. Whale withdrawals could potentially reduce liquidity on the exchange side, while ongoing aggressive buying may result in heightened competition for the limited supply of Ethereum. Both trends positively influenced the buying side and strengthened the emerging supply-demand structure.
Derivatives traders exhibited a bullish inclination, albeit with a notable decline in their conviction during the most recent period. At press time, Ethereum’s Funding Rate stood at a positive 0.003827, although it experienced a decline of 53.53% over the past 24 hours. Positive funding suggested that long positions continued to benefit shorts, maintaining a leveraged positioning skewed in favour of buyers. Yet, the sharp decline indicated a reduction in enthusiasm relative to the prior funding environment. Meanwhile, leveraged conviction has diminished, while spot demand has maintained a more positive outlook. The divergence primarily centred on the transition from increasingly aggressive leveraged exposure to a focus on organic buying. The reduction in funding could also mitigate the risks of overheating as ETH purchasers attempt to probe resistance levels in the vicinity. A renewed funding increase alongside persistent spot dominance would bolster bullish positioning across the markets. Currently, derivatives traders maintain a long-side bias, although a decline in funding has weakened the confirmation from leveraged participants.
At the time of analysis, Ethereum traded near $1,899 after consistently maintaining its position above the $1,870.61 support level. Meanwhile, the 1,960.50 resistance continued to constrain the recovery from above. On the shorter time frame, Parabolic SAR signalled a bullish market position after it shifted below the price level of $1,822.08, as of the current writing. Buyers consequently secured further technical backing as ETH sustained its position above the immediate support level of $1,735.31. RSI reached 53.96, positioned above its 53.18 average, thereby maintaining a reading that is marginally above neutral territory. More importantly, that position facilitated further acquisitions without the risk of excessive purchases of Ethereum. A decisive break above $1,960.50 could open a path toward the $2,100 resistance zone. Sustained whale withdrawals and spot buying would further enhance the market conditions for this expansion. However, should the recovery structure falter, then 1,735.31 emerges as a critical support level.
