Ethereum Stalls Below $2,000 as Altcoins Face Key Support Tests

Ethereum’s price exhibited stability relative to the previous week, as sellers effectively halted the rally at the $2,000 resistance level, leading to a subsequent pullback. At the time of this post, ETH was found around $1,890, and it may retest the support at $1,800 next. Despite the recent gains from $1,500, this cryptocurrency remains in a macro downtrend characterised by distinct lower lows and lower highs. If buyers wish to halt this trend, they must establish $2,000 as a level of support. Looking ahead, Ethereum appears to be consolidating within the range of $2,000 and $1,800 until a definitive breakout occurs. Bulls must exert considerable effort to prevent prices from falling below $1,800 in order to avert the establishment of new lows. XRP experienced a decline of 3% this week, positioning itself slightly above the $1 support threshold. This price action has also resulted in the formation of a pennant. That could indicate a continuation of the prevailing trend once the asset breaks free from it. In this instance, that indicates a negative outlook.

The volume persists in its decline, establishing distinct lower lows. That observation does not bode well for buyers seeking to reverse the current downtrend. A break below $1 would settle the matter and see XRP make new lows, with $0.80 as a key target. Looking ahead, it is prudent to await the breakout of the pennant before conducting a reassessment. Until that occurs, the price will consolidate at the peak of this formation prior to its breakout. ADA managed to close this week with a modest increase, registering a gain of just 2%. Nonetheless, the support at $0.15 has been reaffirmed, and this cryptocurrency appears poised for a potential ascent towards $0.20. Ultimately, the resistance at $0.23 needs to be reclaimed for a bullish outlook to materialise. Given that the latest upward movement has occurred on diminished volume, it indicates that buyers are still hesitant and will require additional gains to build the necessary confidence to increase their activity in the order book.

Looking ahead, Cardano may be poised to emerge from a challenging phase between 2025 and 2026, during which the price experienced a decline from $1.2 to $0.14. To achieve this, ADA must maintain a position above $0.15 and target $0.23 as its next objective. Binance Coin has experienced a 4% increase this week, following the successful efforts of buyers to push it above the support level of $580. As long as this key level holds, bulls maintain a favourable position, potentially targeting $690 next, which represents the critical resistance level. At this juncture, the prevailing uptrend remains in its nascent stages, and sellers possess the potential to reverse it at any moment. Consequently, it is prudent to await confirmation of this breakout to mitigate the risk of a bull trap scenario. Looking ahead, BNB could continue to consolidate within the range of $580 to $690. If so, the decline below $580 may be viewed as a temporary anomaly in the price movement.

In a manner reminiscent of the previous week, HYPE once again underperformed, closing in negative territory and experiencing a 7% decline in its valuation. More concerning, however, is the observation that this cryptocurrency seems to have deviated from its previous upward trajectory. The support at $60 has now transitioned into a resistance level, and HYPE is poised to approach the subsequent support at $52. If both these levels are lost in quick succession, it constitutes an extremely bearish signal that suggests a significant correction may be imminent. Looking ahead, it is increasingly evident that Hyperliquid’s most favourable days might be in the past following the price peak of approximately $76. Since then, it has experienced a continuous decline. Should $52 not deter sellers, the subsequent key support will be located at $45.
